Common cancers

Diagnostic records, treatment options and preparations for care in China for twelve cancer groups.

Lung cancer care in China

Early-stage lung cancer is usually assessed for surgery first. Unresectable locally advanced lung cancer is often treated with chemoradiotherapy. For metastatic lung cancer, medicines are selected mainly according to pathology and genetic test results. Compare the options below to understand treatment cycles, hospital visits and the items included in an international department budget.

Thyroid cancer care in China

Whether thyroid cancer can be monitored, treated by removing one lobe or requires total thyroidectomy depends on the pathological type, tumour location and lymph nodes. Post-operative iodine-131 is assessed separately according to risk and treatment goals. Include long-term medicines, voice changes, low-calcium monitoring and follow-up after returning home in preparations for China.

Colorectal cancer care in China

First distinguish colon from rectal cancer. Resectable colon cancer is often treated with surgery first; some rectal cancers need radiotherapy or medicines before surgery is assessed. Sphincter preservation, a stoma and resection of liver metastases belong in the same treatment plan before costs are calculated for each phase.

Breast cancer care in China

Breast cancer planning considers both stage and ER, PR and HER2 results. Some patients have surgery first; others receive medicines first. Breast-conserving treatment usually also requires consideration of post-operative radiotherapy. Targeted or endocrine treatment may continue after chemotherapy. Break down your China budget and travel according to the whole plan.

Liver cancer care in China

Whether liver cancer can be treated surgically depends on liver function and how much liver can be preserved, as well as tumour size. This page mainly covers hepatocellular carcinoma: compare resection, ablation, interventional and drug treatment, understand how reassessment determines the next step, and budget for repeated international department care. Intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma or other cancers metastatic to the liver require separate discussion based on pathology and the primary site.

Gastric cancer care in China

Some early gastric cancers can be removed endoscopically. If surgery is needed, ask how much stomach will be removed, whether chemotherapy comes first, and how to eat afterwards. Metastatic disease mainly calls for discussion of medicines and symptom management. This page covers gastric adenocarcinoma. Gastric lymphoma, gastrointestinal stromal tumours and other types require their own treatment discussion.

Oesophageal cancer care in China

Oesophageal cancer assessment starts with lesion location, squamous cell carcinoma versus adenocarcinoma, complete resectability and current food intake. Some early lesions can have endoscopic treatment. Locally advanced cases often need surgery coordinated with medicines or chemoradiotherapy. Your stay in China needs to include nutrition, recovery of swallowing and reassessment as well as treatment.

Prostate cancer care in China

Prostate cancer does not always require surgery immediately after diagnosis. Assess risk using PSA, biopsy grade, imaging and health, then compare active surveillance, surgery, radiotherapy or medicines. China preparations also need to consider urinary continence, sexual function, long-term androgen deprivation and follow-up after returning home.

Cervical cancer care in China

Cervical cancer treatment starts with the extent of invasion, lymph nodes and health. Some early cases can have surgery. Locally advanced disease often mainly uses concurrent chemoradiotherapy with brachytherapy. Raise fertility needs before treatment starts. This page covers diagnosed invasive cervical cancer. HPV positivity alone or precancerous lesions require assessment for the relevant situation first.

Pancreatic cancer care in China

Pancreatic cancer resectability depends on blood vessel involvement, distant spread and health, not only mass size. Treatment order differs for resectable, borderline resectable, locally advanced and metastatic disease. This page mainly covers common pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. Pancreatic neuroendocrine tumours need a different assessment.

Lymphoma care in China

Lymphoma is not one disease. Treatment differs greatly between diffuse large B-cell, follicular, Hodgkin and T/NK-cell types. Some need prompt treatment; others can have planned observation. Obtain complete pathological classification before comparing courses, tolerance, recurrence options and international department costs. This page mainly covers common adult types.

Leukaemia care in China

First distinguish acute myeloid, acute lymphoblastic, chronic myeloid and chronic lymphocytic leukaemia before comparing care arrangements. Acute leukaemia often needs prompt inpatient management. Some chronic types mainly involve long-term medicines or observation. This page covers common adult types; childhood treatment and transplant assessment have different requirements.

Cancer burden: check the statistical year and estimation method first

A National Cancer Center study estimated approximately 4.8247 million new cancer cases and 2.5742 million cancer deaths in China in 2022. These are national estimates obtained by modelling cancer registry data. They are neither measured figures for 2024 nor hospital case counts or treatment outcome indicators.

Incidence, deaths, survival and age-standardised rates describe different issues. Figures from different years, data coverage and estimation methods cannot simply be subtracted to establish actual change. Cancers that are common in population statistics do not establish an individual's cancer risk or treatment outcome.

New case counts, death counts and survival rates describe different measures. Specify the year, region and statistical method. National case totals cannot establish that a particular hospital is more suitable for an individual. Hospital selection also requires considering experience with the same subtype and stage, and conditions for continuity of care.

Tell us what help you need

Ask about the costs and arrangements for cancer care. SinoCareHub helps organise records, contact hospitals and follow up on arrangements. The receiving hospital and doctors determine the diagnosis and treatment plan.

Describe your needs in the initial consultation. The team will help organise medical records in subsequent communication.

After you submit, we'll first get in touch to understand your situation. Hospital acceptance, the care plan, and costs will be confirmed later.
