Guide
Website prices are only a starting point. Final charges can change with test results, the care plan, medicines, supplies, and stay length.
A cost statement should show currency, date, included items, payee, and cancellation terms. It should also list unconfirmed charges.

Review four types of cost separately
Hospital charges cover registration, tests, medicines, consumables, admission, and treatment. Huayitong fees follow the agreed coordination scope. Interpretation and accompaniment depend on language, city, time, and scope. Hotels, vehicles, and tickets are third-party services.

02
An estimate is not the final bill
Known outpatient items may have fixed prices. Complex treatment often has only an initial range. Hospital charges can change if the doctor adds tests, changes treatment, or extends admission. Ask for the reason, amount, and approval method when changes occur.
03
Confirm payment and insurance from both sides
Hospitals may accept RMB cash, cards, or mobile payment. Accepted cards, deposits, and timing vary. Direct insurance billing must be confirmed with both insurer and hospital. If unavailable, patients may need to pay first and claim later.
FAQ
Do I need to pay hospital charges, Huayitong fees, and travel costs together?
No. These three types of charges are explained separately.
Hospital registration, testing, admission, and treatment charges are paid according to hospital requirements. Huayitong fees are based on services agreed by both parties. These may include medical-record organization, appointment coordination, interpretation, or accompaniment. Hotel, vehicle, and other third-party costs are itemized separately. Before service begins, we identify each payee, included service, and cancellation policy. Hospital charges may change with the doctor's plan and length of stay.
Can I know the total treatment cost before traveling to China?
Usually, the final treatment cost cannot be confirmed before you travel to China. Only known charges or reference ranges can be provided.
Final medical costs depend on disease stage, treatment response, the doctor's plan, and test results. They also depend on medications, medical supplies, and length of stay. Cost information should state the currency, date, and included items. It should also identify costs that still require hospital confirmation.
How can an international patient pay at a hospital in China?
Accepted payment methods vary by hospital. Confirm them before departure.
Hospitals may accept RMB cash, bank cards, or mobile payments. Ask which cards are accepted, whether a deposit is required, and when payment is due. Prepare a backup payment method.
Can a Chinese hospital bill my international health insurer directly?
Not always. Both the insurer and hospital must support direct billing.
Without direct billing, you may need to pay first. Then submit invoices, itemized charges, and medical records according to the insurer's requirements. Confirm the arrangement separately with the insurer and hospital before booking.
